ZORQ Breaks New Ground: 434 m² Ellipsoid Project Successfully Delivered

Table of Contents

In an era where technology and art collide, ZORQ is leading the industry with a spatial innovation that breaks with convention. The company has delivered a striking 434 m² ellipsoid project — one whose distinctive ellipsoidal form and forward-looking technology redraw the boundary between modern architecture and display engineering. The successful delivery of this in-house-developed 434 m² ellipsoid marks another round of international recognition for ZORQ’s technical strength in custom-shaped displays.

Breaking with Tradition, Building a New Landmark

A new challenge, a new chapter for the ellipsoid project

ZORQ has long been fluent in irregular structures. At the 2025 Shenzhen International LED Exhibition, the company had already demonstrated the depth of its custom-shape capability — spherical screens, heart-shaped screens, letter-shaped screens and a whole range of bespoke solutions. The planned 434 m² ellipsoid takes that philosophy of innovation to its limit. In the LED industry, the ellipsoid has always been regarded as a technical challenge. Consider the ellipsoidal lattice shell of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum: 67 m along the major axis, 51 m along the minor axis, 42.2 m tall — its design and construction demand the very highest level of engineering. Drawing on years of accumulated experience in custom-shaped displays, ZORQ has been able not only to reduce the number of moulds required but also to refine the solution further still, opening a new breakthrough in this field.

Overcoming Difficulty, Engineering a Bespoke Solution

Tackling every challenge, one by one

Throughout delivery, ZORQ’s technical team worked through a long list of challenges. Faced with a tight schedule and the particular constraints of the site, the R&D team made a series of adaptive improvements to the product, including:

  • With an extremely tight deadline, mould development was streamlined to compress lead time.
  • Rapid assembly using Layher trusses together with a simplified structure.
  • A bespoke content plan that weaves in native Korean cultural elements.

These meticulous, made-to-measure services earned high praise from the client.

Capability built on technology

ZORQ’s technical strength is not to be underestimated. Its LED spherical screens, as exhibited, now form a standardised series: high refresh rate, brightness above 500 cd/m², IP45 protection and excellent anti-corrosion design. The cabinet kits use a high-precision knock-down structure that guarantees stability and reliability. On the engineering side, the company deploys Layher trusses that go up and come down quickly, together with simple yet robust quick-release structures, to shorten delivery times as far as possible. This engineering know-how sets a benchmark for the industry and gives ZORQ a body of reference material for its own projects.

A Global Footprint, Looking Ahead

A far-reaching international strategy

The successful delivery of this project is an important milestone in ZORQ’s internationalisation strategy. In recent years the company has steadily stepped up its expansion in overseas markets, and its products are now exported to Southeast Asia, Europe, North America and many other countries and regions.

The success has brought considerable commercial returns, but more importantly it has established a “Created in China” brand image in high-end markets, laying a solid foundation for further international expansion.

Creating limitless possibilities

A ZORQ spokesperson said: “The success of this project is only a beginning. We will keep investing in technical innovation, bring more high-end display solutions to the world, and let users everywhere experience the fruits of Chinese innovation.”

As the project moves into successful operation, it is expected to attract further international orders and to further consolidate ZORQ’s leading position in custom-shaped displays worldwide.

The overseas delivery of this 434 m² ellipsoid showcases not only ZORQ’s technical capability but also the progress Chinese companies have made in upgrading from “manufacturing” to “intelligent manufacturing”. Going forward, we look forward to seeing more Chinese innovation shine on the world stage.
